Through the Looking Glass

Hey!
The start of a new week is always a time which makes me feel like I have a lot to do and very little time to do it in. That feeling usually disapears by Tuesday lunchtime though, to be replaced with a kind of laziness! Today's outfit;
Broke in the Topshop Granny shoes (my feet hurt!) and wore a vintage lace bolero/shrug thing I got on etsy a while ago and hadn't worn yet! I also wore my Zara dress and the studded belt from H&M, with H&M tights and a necklace I got ages ago on ebay!
Close up of the lace and necklace (I'm sure I've worn it before but it's a clock, not a working one though!)
Yesterday's outfit, I got dressed intended to head for the shops but ended up not going further than Tescos!
The weird pose is because I was picking stickers off the bottom of my shoes while the self-timer ticked! The top is another etsy purchase, worn with a Primark boob-tube (since I hate having my cleavage on display - I get hollered at enough by builders etc). The skirt is H&M, pretty predictable to wear my purple shoes with my purple skirt, I know! The shoes are New Look and the cuff is from some random goth shop.
Oh! I wore my faux fur jacket too, I love that thing;
So that was day one and two of my "wear heels everyday week" and no major injuries yet!

Goody Two Shoes

Hey!
Hope everybody had an amazing weekend! On friday I promised you a shoe post (it may be one of the only ones I ever do 'cause I am just not a shoe gal!), so here we go...First up, the new additions to my little shoe family, replacing the boots that, realistically, I'd never be able to walk in! One of things about being tall is that, after a certain heel height, skyscraper shoes don't really suit me aside from the fact that I am completely immobilised by them, which is never good.
These little purple shoes are from New Look (their shoes can be on the cheap-sticky-fakey side, but right now they're ace! I have decided that I don't like the way I look in super flat shoes (dumpy and weirdly short, is that odd?) so I'm gonna try and wear more small heels during the day. Aside from looking better, I am hoping that wearing small heels will help me to build up a resistance to fiercer heels because there are several pairs that I won right now which I can't wear!
I have wanted a pair of cream mary-janes for the longest time (even my friend said "Oh, those are so you!" when she saw them) and triple straps are even better than double straps, right? They're also weirdly comfortable (so far, admittedly I haven't been dancin' yet or attempted any of Edinburgh's cobbled streets!).

So, I should've returned the Topshop boots for money but I swapped them for these bad boys instead! They're kinda Granny-ish, but I think I like that!

So, Sea showed you guys all of her pretty shoes and I'm gonna do the same! Here you go;

Don't forget the boots!
So, there you go, all of my shoes (excluding gross work shoes, gym trainers and those which are stored at my Mum's place, but no hidden Uggs, I swear!) and a resolution; heels everyday for a week. I will break my feet into loving heels, 2009 will be the year I learn to walk properly. For anyone else with heel trauma like me, Fashion Addict has some tips - check them out!

Friday night lights

Hey!
It's officially the weekend! I don't know why I'm excited since I'm spending tomorrow at work, Sunday in the library and so far no plans for vodka-times in between *sigh* I had a nice today, lunch with some uni friends and then I returned the ripped boots and swapped them for something else (ooops, I may have bought 3 pairs of shoes in one day...epic shoe post to come!), so all is well! So, on to outfits;

Wore my Zara Kids vest thing again, damn that thing is cosy! Excuse the crapness of the photos but on Fridays I have a 9 o'clock lecture which means I get up before the sun does! I wore it with a Topshop boutique dress, Topshop cardigan, Primark skirt and H&M tights! I had black shoe boots on this morning but then swapped for flat red boots! The neckalces are H&M.
Thursday's outfit;

The same red boots I wore today, Primark tights, Topshop skirt, Zara top (I usually only wear it to work!) and a cardigan which was a gift.
Hope everyone has a most excellent weekend!

13th (and Christmas shopping already?!)

Ooh, almost unlucky friday 13th!
Thankfully, the 13th is a thursday this time! Now that we are back and in the blogging mode, it's time for a post! Thank goodness I read Char's recent post before going into town today as I almost bought the sam boots as her from Topshop! I was very close to buying them, then I realised! They are so lovely! Anywho..
Yes, as sad and true as it is, I've started my Christmas shopping LOL. I like to be organised. I did not get too much, I got all of my sister's present. So thats one down!

Now, for some outfits, some varying from; night outs with the girls, day time-ness, meeting for coffee etc!
Top; Topshop. Bag; Primark (I want to go back BAD!). Skirt; H&M. Marc Jacobs Dasiy Perfume ring. Heels; H&M. Bracelet; (actuallya necklace) from Char.

Shoes; Topshop. Leggings; Topshop. Dress/Top; H&M. Boler; H&M. I've been quite addicted to these leggings recently, I should stop wearing them so much!
Shoes; Converse. Jeans; (possibly Topshop, theres no label, they're pretty old!). Shirt; Topman. Tee; American Apparel. Necklace; D&G (^_^).
Some recent purchases;(From American Apparel, its their Slat & Pepper Fleece Zip Hoody, it's SO cosy and keeps you warm!)
Both from New Look (I am SO loving that palce right now, it never fails me!). Been searching for a good blazer like this for aaaages so I was v. glad when i found it! And in my size, yay! The top is kinda like a batwing/kimono style & wore it like this to go out with the girls;
The leggings again, ha! Boots are from Primark.

In my previous post, a lovely commenter asked to see all the shoes I have, so;

I NEED MORE SHOES!!

Tea or coffee?

Hey!
So...I'm back! I'm not going to bore you with the tale of my broken laptop - even I'm bored of it! It's back to something close to working order now though so hopefully blogging will return to normal! In the mean time, I'll make this an uber long one to make up for my absence! Today's outfit, I woke up feeling like I wanted to wear an air hostess (I suppose it's more PC to say "cabin crew" but that makes me think of icky orange t-shirts a la Easyjet) neck bow, so I did;
The scarf thing is from Primark, as in the modesty-conserving boob-tube-skirt, the dress is a vintage find from etsy, the bangles are a big mixture and that black top is from H&M. The outfit gives me an opportunity to show off one of my recent buys; Topshop boots scored in the sale for £22.50 with student discount. I'm not going to lie and say I'm actually wearing these all day today, thus risking injury, I am merely testing them to see if I can wear them tonight. The answer seems to be no, not a good idea.
I know they don't look that fierce, but my feet seem to be genetically programmed to hate heels; it truly sucks!
So I was totally gearing up to take them back and get my moneys back when this happened;

Yeah a big old rip! So now I'm scared to take them back in case they blame it on me, but it's not as if I was shoving my feet into too small shoes, these are actually a size too big! Anyway, today I also got these babies on etsy, can't wait till they get here!

Studded mocassins, are you kidding me? Squee!

Some more purchases from the past few weeks. I had a bit of a spree last week, the bank account didn't appriciate it but it felt like a release so I don't regret it!
This corset top from H&M, I had seen it in a magazine a while ago, gone in search of it and been gutted when I didn't find it...so I was happy when I found it by chance last week! I have no clue what I'll wear it with yet!

This furry vest thing (I've been wanting one for ages!) is actually from Zara Kids so I have no clue how or why it fits me, I'm just very glad that it does!
I wore it yesterday, thusly;
I wore it with my Zara dress, New Look shoes and River Island top (and a sneaky black cardigan for warmth!), 'scuse the flash but I took the photo in the evening!

I got these two Mary Quant bodysuits from ebay a couple of weeks ago, I plan to wear them under the purple dress, which has a really low cut back, and other such things;

Probably my favourite new buy is this faux fur jacket from H&M, I wore it on Friday (outfit catch-up time!);

Thursday;
My flatmate said I looked like an emo, I see her point...
Wednesday;
Tuesday;
I think tomorrow I'll do a tour of my wardrobe, it needs tidied first though!

brithdays/hallowe'en!

Hello!
Sorry for our lack of absence recently! This is just a quick post to show some fun pictures from our Hallowe'en. It was also my very good friends' 21st Birthday. she looked great as Little Dead Riding Hood with this fab accessory;

LOL, its the wolf's head from the story, in Little Red Riding Hood's basket, worth a picture I thought!
Like I mentioned in my previous post, I was using the same costume as last year; which was batwoman (not very original, I know, but it gave me GREAT opportunities to speak to people who had dressed up as the Joker/Batman, as I'm obsessed haha);

Hehe! I look teeny & small.

HOW cute and lovely does char look? (left!). Minnie mouse!!

Hope everyone had a great Hallowe'en :)
(Better post to follow soon!)
