You're made of sunshine

Hey!
Today I went shopping; popped into my work to get a present for my friend's birthday on Friday (and some earrings for myself!) and of course to H&M! I'll show my purchases at some point but right now I'm too tired!
Dorothy perkins shoes and top, H&M skirt, Topshop cardigan and vintage fake pearls (some from ebay, some thrifted), the earrings are real though!

Did anyone see the new episode of Gossip Girl? Awesome...plus Blair's outfit with the green and purple (if I were an editor right now I'd say "jewel tones"...) makes me need something purple to wear with my new skirt.

ps We've had a little make-over, do you like it?

Minnie Mouse

Hey!
Today was surprisingly productive; my laptop was being uncooperative so I spent almost the whole day in the library, doing actual work! This week is a reading week for us (no lectures!) so it's a good feeling to actually do something with it.

The boots I bought in New York, the tights are from H&M, the skirt is Topshop, the floral top is from Primark and the bustier is Dorothy Perkins. Check out the charm bracelet I wore today, it has lots of little animals on it! My favourite is the little unicorn in the middle. I bought it as a good luck charm for uni (my degree is Biological Sciences, though my honours subject is Psychology so that's what I do now, confused?) although it's too chunky to wear in exams or when typing!

This was my outfit from Yesterday, Sunday. I had an amzing roast dinner at my Mum's (this picture was snapped in her bedroom!) don't know why I look so scary in the photo...and also chubby, I swear this skirt isn't as unflattering in real life!
The same Topshop skirt, thrifted belt and H&M shirt. I can't believe I have only worn this top twice now, I was so excited to buy it and have never worn it? Myabe because it's a little bit Halloweeny? Though that's appropriate this week, I guess! I LOVE Halloween so I'm really looking forward to it, even though I have work the next day...
Friday's outfit, I dressed a bit casually becuase we had a presentation to give in my lecture. I got myself all worked up about it and fretted all the way up to the front of the class...then realised that we had agreed only one of us was going to speak, not me! So I got all hyped up for nothing!
New Look flats, H&M tights, t-shirt and cardigan and Zara dress. The necklaces are from H&M too.
Thursday's outfit;
Boots from New York, Primark tights, H&M dress and cardigan.
I was shopping in my wardrobe at Mum's yesterday and found the makings of one awesome Minnie Mouse costume, I think that's my new Halloween idea!

Checking it out.

Hey!
Hope eveybody is well today! Just today's outfit, a bit under-accessorised I think;
The checked dressis vintage, I got it from etsy, and I always wear it with a Primark boob-tube underneath to avoid being arrested for indecent exposure! Don't know where the tights are from but the shoes are also from etsy and the black top is from H&M.
Check out my watch ring! It doesn't work 'cause there's no battery in it (I might stick one in at work if I remember to take it in with me...) but isn't it fun? I got it from ebay ages ago.

All the young dudes

Hey!
Excuse the weird pose! This is today's outfit, after being reminded of the comfort of these old boots I decided to wear them again today - it's not often my feet are dry, warm and not sore!
The skirt is actually a dress, from Topshop, I probably shouldn't wear it under t-shirts as it does make me look like I have waist! The t-shirt is from H&M and the tights are tightsplease, the studded cuff I bought in some random goth shop!

Tiny dancer.

Hey!
Monday's are so depressing; another week of trying to do work and getting distracted by blogs and parties! I wore my new skirt on Saturday night but didn't really get a picture, sorry! This is today's outfit, I'm having lunch with some friends then meeting my group for this pointless presentation we have to do on Friday. It really is pointless, I mean, it's not even graded and the paper we're speaking about is rubbish! I was definatly inspired by my current love of all things pink/peach when getting dressed this morning, sadly I only own about three such things!

These boots were from Logo (Ican't even say it without an involuntary shiver of digust) last winter but I swear last year I wore them more than any other shoes I own...maybe time to bring them back? The socks are from Topshop, I love them 'cause they are so soft and the exact colour of ballet tights! The lace ribbon in my hair is from the local fabric shop. The tights are H&M, the dress is Zara and the neckalces are H&M and Topshop. I thought the little ballerina was appropriate;

Lookout weekend.

Hey!
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to a good weekend! Today I had a really boring lecture followed by a fun lunch - we always have lunch on Friday afternoons, it has become a Psych tradition! So, this was my outfit, I'm sure it's a repeat but whatver!

The dress is from Zara, the tee is Topshop, H&M cardigan and H&M necklaces, vintage shoes (which are falling apart, I need another trip to the creepy shoe place!).
I tried to get a good photo of my new necklace from H&M, can you even see it? It's like little music notes and that thing which I think is called a treble clef? I am so not the musical one in my family!
Thursday's outfit;
I got this cardigan at the Topshop student night (yay for discount!), I used to think red didn't suit me at all but recently I've been loving it! Plus this cardigan goes well with my thrifted boots! I don't think it's wise to wear these boots with a denim mini-skirt actually, I felt like a cowgirl all day! The t-shirt is from etsy, by the way and the bangle is H&M, the skirt is Primark, but I got it off ebay.

Purple rain

Hey!
Student shop at Topshop was awesome, spent way too much money though! I got this purple dress (would not have bought it without the discount!) then wore it out Tuesday night. Yet again, I failed to take outfit shots before going out but I don't think this one (taken in the club) is too bad! You can't see my shoes but they weren't too exciting anyway!

This is the photo from the website, probably easier to see the shape of the dress!
I also got this adorable skirt! Though I was really pissed off 'cause I went in earlier in the day and a couple of my friends (who work there duh) promised to hold my stuff for me till later on, which they did. Then some geek decides to put everything that was on hold back out on the floor where of course it gets hoovered right back up again by greedy students! F was running around trying to find my stuff but alas this skirt was nowhere to be found in my size...the smaller size fits in a kind of high-waisted, very short way which is ok at night but I wanted to wear it during the day too!
it has the cutest detail on the back, a bow and an exposed zipper!

I heart student discount!

Hey!
This is Tuesday's outfit;

The shoes are Dorothy Perkins, H&M tights, tee shirt and chains, the blue top was thrifted and the jacket is vinatge from ebay, as is the silver cuff. I cut my face off 'cause my hair is wet and it makes me look like an egg! Topshop student night tonight woop! I'm off for recon....

Monday's outfit;

This sheer jumper/dress thig was a gift from my relatives in Australia, before now I couldn't figure out how to wear it, but I think I like it like this! I'm wearing it with my H&M skirt and tee (which I rolled up and tied at the back like the good ol' 90's days when imitating Sabrina the teenage witch or the pink Power Ranger, you know you did it too!). You can't really tell but I'm wearing my belt bracelet. The shoes are vintage from etsy. I also found another use for my bow brooch, a hair accesory!
Check out how long my hair is, I really need it cut actually - I'm beginning to look like this scruffy urban fox we saw on Saturday night! That thing was mangy, I thought it was just some stray dog - practically a crack fox!

Tired.

Hey!
Very fun night last night; drinks at mine, then to my favourite pub for Parma Violet vodka, a flat party and finally a club! Tired today but that was made better with bacon rolls and sausages and the Sex and the City movie with my three best friends from school. This shoddy photo is the only one I have of my outfit last night; note to self, take outfit shots before vodka shots...
Disclaimer: I didn't actually do shots last night but it sounded kinda catchy!
You can kinda get a better view of the dress/skirt thing here. It's originally from H&M but I got it from ebay, the bangle was a gift and the belt is also H&M. The denim jacket is Moto from Topshop, I have had it since I was 14!
This was my outfit from Thursday; just boring lectures and a tutorial...
H&M pink peep-toes, black tights from who-cares-where, Primark skirt and floral top, Dorothy Perkins bustier. This bustier is so versitile, it literally goes with everything!
This was Friday's outfit, morning lecture then lunch at our student union (awesome burgers - and uber cheap!).

Black peep-toes - H&M, H&M tights, Topshop dress, I heart NY tee from New York (duh!), cardigan which was a gift and hairband which I think is H&M.
Oh! I went into a charity shop t'other day and found the perfect belt for this project!

Hey there!
Hope everyone's well! I am feeling much better having finally snapped out of the black mood laptop repair bills put me in and getting started on some dissertation reading. Wednesday's outfit;

I still love these H&M tights, they make everything look better. The shoes are vintage from etsy, the dress is Zara and the top (which I maybe should've ironed!) is from Topshop.

This was Tuesday's outfit, please excuse crap photography - I think this was one of those outfits that looks much better in person than in a photo anyway, do you guys get those too?

The leopard-print flats are from New Look, tightsplease tights, primark boob-tube/skirt, vintage lace nightdress (worn as skirt), "R" tee from H&M and long cardigan from Zara.

Monday's outfit;
Same ol' leopard flats, 100 dens, dress and cardigan from H&M and the yellow bow is part of a top I got from ebay.

Sea and I found these awesome Emilio Cavallini tights on mytights and thought them a good alternative for those of us who will never own the sacred Chanel tights (which are selling on ebay, if you have a couple of hundred pounds spare). Aren't they nice?
On an unrelated note; does anyone else hate how tights models wear tights with nothing on top? I mean, we need to see the product but I'm sure we don't need to see gusset! Just stick like a non-distracting black skirt on or something, please! They are wearing shoes though so I suppose not looking at toe-gusset is a plus.

We've been tagged! Both Slanelle and Ariella of Pearls in your Hair tagged us to answer the "six quirks" about ourselves...

1. I used to be a cheerleader. A pom-pom toting, weird-face-pulling, uniform-wearing cheerleader. In fact I was a captain of my squad.
2. I can not sit in a room with the door open, I don't know why but I can't do it.
3. My favourite food is sandwiches and I don't like to share food. I am essentially Joey from friends in female form.
4. I have never seen the wizard of oz. I am determined never to see it either; it is now a matter of principal because of the number of times I have heard "you've never seen it?"
5. I didn't own a pair of jeans until I was 10/11 and very rarely wear them now, a girly girl to the core.
6. I have a recurring nightmare in which one of my legs is shorter than the other, running away from the mocking that ensues due to this debillitating condition is futile as I can move only in a circular motion. I usually wake up close to tears and fumble under the covers to check that all my limbs are in proportion, as nature intended.

Now for the rules!
1) Link who tagged you.
2) Post the rules.
3) List 6 quirky unknown facts, or little known facts about you.
4) Tag 6 fellow bloggers.

I think I shall tag (and I assume this is on behalf of Sea too) Hanna and Rosanna of Little Miss Dress Up, Krissy of Purple Pigment, the girls at R.O.F.Y, Winnie from Diamond Canopy and anyone else who wants it!

I hate my laptop

Hey all!
I must start with an apology for my absence this week! I didn't intend to go AWOL and I am just back from the laptop repair place, £320 poorer so you may have to excuse the foul mood I'm in right now. That's the whole of my overdraft, which I need to live this year, on repairs my laptop - and it's only the third week of uni! I've been working in the computer labs but I felt weird blogging there...I'm sure you understand! The good news is that I have a week's worth of outfits to share, this will probably be the longest post I have ever attempted! Oh, and the supplies for this DIY have been procured!

Tuesday:

Lace dress - Topshop, generic black tights, vintage shoes via ebay, cardigan - gift, accessories I can't remember!

Wednesday:

Please excuse the unbrushed hair - I promise I did fix it before leaving the flat! Vinatge boots - thrifted, grey tights - Primark, dress - H&M, Dollydagger tee, ebay belt.

On Wednesday night we headed out to our favourite club, had an awesome night (despite my flatmate being, umm denied entry? She was fine; she hates indie music anyway!). I wore my new Topshop tee and skirt thusly:

100 denier tights - H&M, shoes vintage via ebay, skirt and tee - Topshop, studded cuff - some goth shop in Crieff.

Random shoe photo, we all happened to be wearing black shoes...

Thursday:

The "R" tee is from H&M and it does bear some relevance. In an effort to remain semi-anonomous I adopted a pseudonym when I started this blog, "Char" is part of my name, but not my first name! Sorry to be so confusing and mysterious but I wnated to explain the random "R"...The dress underneath is from Zara, the shoes are Dorothy Perkins, the studded cuff is from some random goth shop and the hair clip (I am aware you can't see it) is from H&M.

Friday:

I had a lecture in the morning and then lunch with uni friends - we plan to do lunch a lot this year since we're not all in the same classes like previous years. The cardigan is from Primark, Logo (ew) tee and Topshop skirt, Primark tights and hair bow, New Look shoes and I am aware that the skirt is probably the most unflattering thing ever but for some reason I continue to wear it!

Saturday:

As usual, I had to work on Saturday but once I was finished I headed to the pub where my brother works for a burger, abusing his discount of course! Shocking to see me in jeans no? This is the first time in at least 4 months I've worn jeans, made a nice change! They're from Miss Selfridge, as are the shoes, the tee is H&M and the bustier/boobtube thing is from Dorothy Perkins, same studded cuff as before. The jacket and scarf picture is included because it was really cold that day! The jacket is from ebay and the scarf was a gift.

Sunday:

That brings us up to date! Today I had lunch at my Mum's and we went to some random gift party at her friend's house. I chose a few stocking fillers for Christmas and my Mum chose her birthday present. I also scored myself a baby-sitting gig, doubt it'll pay off the laptop bill though! Wearing that Topshop skirt again with H&M tights, vintage shoes and an etsy top. I had a jacket etc but my camera battery died, I haven't been able to charge it since my laptop has been broken!

Colour me happy, there's a sofa in here for two!

Hey!
I had this sneaky feeling that my new blue skirt would look good with these dark burgandy tights I bought a while ago;
The purple shoes are form Dorothy Perkins, thought I'd throw another random colour into the mix, the tights are lovely 80 deniers from H&M which they have in a multitude of great colours (I may have to stock up!), the skirt is also from H&M and was bought as part of my little spree on Friday. Oh, Topshop are doing this campus tour thing of universities in the UK right now (they're here on Wednesday, woop!) and it includes a sort of design and print your own tee-shirt machine. Personally, I can't wait. They're also doing their students shops again, the ones with alcohol and discount. Edinburgh's is the 14 and 15 of October, perhaps I'll see you there! The grey tee and long silver chains are also from H&M, actually so is the cardigan and the hairband!
This picture from facehunter, just cemented the blue-burgandy combo in my head and I could dress in nothing else this morning!
Yesterday's outfit;

More grey! The shoes are vintage, bought via ebay if memory serves, the tights are from tightsplease, the skirt was thirfted then attacked with scissors by me and the tee and cardigan are H&M, as in the hairband!
