New York fashion week starts today and apparently in these tough financial times, even the designers are cutting back on their spending. Reported cost-cutting measures include; staging shows in venues outside of Bryant park and using volunteer models or no models at all, choosing instead to use mannequins in a static show. This feels to me a bit like karma or something, I work hard to be able to afford fashion and I dream of being able to afford the clothes I see on the runway. Now they have to budget carefully to get their designs seen, it only seems fair!

Woah, it's so strange that they themselves need to cut back. This is definately karma.
I like your blog, I'm linking!
link me and comment mine?
Amen,
totally karma and totally fair <3
To be honest I have spent way under what I usually spend in a month too!
It is definitely strange seeing it reflected in the runway.
Got to love Tokyo right? I so badly want to visit. One day one day....!
Everyone is feeling the pressure to cut down on costs, although some are feeling it more than others. Hopefully these limitations will cause people to not take things for granted and to make the most of what they have.
Thanks so much for your comment on my shoes sweetheart :) I'm gunna keep them with just the studs at the back. I'd love to swap links with you - adding you right now! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
Hm, that is strange... but I also think it could be very interesting to see the result of it. Maybe it'd be a new perspective of fashion?
i am with ariella. i really am thinking the result of this.. but one thing come to my mind some models starters will do that job in a one hamburger i bet, to just to get a job and get seen.
oh, i wish! i would love to wear the designs i see on the runway! i saw a michael kors shirt for sale at 7 bucks at TJ Maxx, but it was too big :(
